BRIAN BLUM | lead pastor
Brian first served at Frontline as the Worship and Arts pastor from 2000-2007 before becoming the lead teaching pastor. Brian and his wife, Kerry have four boys. In addition to being Frontline’s Lead Pastor, Brian enjoys fishing, running, music and spending time outdoors with his family. If not at Frontline, you may find Brian at one of his favorite Biggby coffee locations “studying” for an upcoming weekend service.
BILL ABRAHAMSON | facilities director
Bill, a native of West Michigan, has been married to his wife, Sandie, for 34 years. Together they have three grown children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law and three grandchildren. Bill loves to spend time with his family, on the water, or in one of his many gardens. After going to school for Business Management and running several successful businesses, Bill felt called to go into full time ministry in 1999. He worked for Youth for Christ and Founded Revolution Ministries. In 2006, Bill began to volunteer at Frontline and joined the staff as Facilities Director in 2011. When asked why he would do that, Bill replies "It is my privilege to be called to serve in this position. I love to use my various skills and experiences to honor God. I love to share the story of my transformed life. It's my heart's desire to share God's amazing redemptive power with those around me."
AMANDA ALCUMBRACK | children's ministry director
Amanda and her husband Eric have been attending Frontline since November of 2011. They have two kids, Christian and Alayna. Together the Alcumbrack family enjoys exploring the great outdoors by hiking, biking and trekking this world God has created. Amanda is a gifted leader and has been in some form of child development either as an aid, teacher or director since 2008. Amanda brings a wealth of experience and energy to the Children's Ministry here at Frontline!
DAVID DOERNER | teaching and assimilation pastor
David and his wife, Shannon, came to Frontline in March 2017. David graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2014 with a degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration and from Western Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. He loves meeting new people and exploring different cultures and has had opportunities to travel to many different places in Central America, Europe, and the Middle East. David and Shannon love traveling together and spend much of their free time in the outdoors camping, hunting, hiking, and biking!
JIM ELZERMAN | care pastor
Jim overees the pastoral and benevolence needs of those who consider Frontline their home. Jim has over 18 years of pastoral experience and a master's degree in clinical psychology from Wheaton College. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Michigan and is providing fee-based professional counseling to the Frontline family. When not providing congregational care, Jim enjoys scuba diving, riding bike, reading and especially spending time with his grand children. Jim and his wife Tracie live in Grand Rapids.
BRENDON ENDERS | the center church worship/nowgen pastor
Brendon joined the team in August of 2016 and serves as the director of student and worship ministries at the south campus. While originally from Muskegon, he graduated from Kuyper College in Grand Rapids and holds a degree in Pre-Seminary Studies. Brendon is passionate about helping people develop in their God-given gifts and abilities in order to further the Kingdom of God and to serve the church. He also cares deeply about discipleship and helping young people to grow stronger in their relationship with Jesus. Among Brendon’s other passions are sports (particularly soccer and football - Go Blue!), video games, theology, weight lifting, podcasts, indy rock-n-roll, and late night Taco-Bell runs.
JOHN GORVEATTE I the center church campus pastor
Originally from Caledonia, MI, John graduated from Kingswood University (New Brunswick, Canada) with a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry. His desire is to unleash every person to live out his/her God-given calling. His life-aim is to see zero spiritually-lost people in the Byron Center area. He is married to his beautiful (extremely gracious) wife, Lindsey. John enjoys teaching the Bible, running on trails, all things minimalist, and being outside.
JESSE HEINEY | missional pastor/communications director
Jesse came to Frontline in the summer of 2016 with a heart for serving and a desire to see the Church be all it was intended to be. He and his wife felt a deep calling to become everyday missionaries and a call to inspire others to become the same. He has served in ministry for over twenty years in many different capacities, though primarily as a worship leader. Jesse, his wife, Loretta, and their children, Hailey, Brennan, and Lydia love spending time together outdoors hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, or geocaching. He is an unashamed Lions fan, is a closet geek, and chocolate chip cookies are his love language.
BLAKE HICKS | executive pastor
For over 25 years Blake owned and operated three small businesses on the West Side of Grand Rapids. In 2008, Blake felt a call to leave the business world and go into ministry. Upon receiving degrees from both Cornerstone University and Wesley Seminary, Blake has served in both the church and non-profit communities. Blake and his wife Kim have been married for 30 years and have 4 kids along with 2 grandchildren. When not working at Frontline, Blake enjoys competing in triathlons and eating...not necessarily in that order.
KRIS LOCKER | frontline church office administrator
Kris is excited to be a part of the community here at Frontline. Kris has been attending Frontline since 2013, and has been committed to Frontline's mission ever since. Kris has volunteered in both Children and Student ministries while at Frontline and is passionate about meeting people and helping them get connected. Kris loves spending time with friends over coffee and loves to take walks downtown as she just loves the city of Grand Rapids. Kris has enjoyed getting to see Frontline grow through the years and cannot wait to see where God will take our community next.
BRIANNE NOLL | marriage and family therapist
Brianne Noll is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. She leads the counseling ministry and team of therapists at Frontline and also provides a variety of pre-marital, marital, individual, and family counseling services at the church. Brianne is passionate about working with people to grow spiritually, relationally, and mentally in the midst of complex issues, as well as to assist couples in building strong, healthy, lifelong marriages. She welcomes you to contact her about these fee-based professional counseling services if you have any questions or if you are interested in scheduling an initial appointment.
COREY POST | worship & arts pastor
Corey is excited to be a part of what God is doing at Frontline. Corey graduated from Grace Bible College with a Music degree in Worship Arts. He is passionate about worship leadership and helping people move forward in their walk with Christ. He is married to his beautiful wife, Sara, and they have two crazy children Addilyn and Levi. Corey loves any and all sports, anything that involves being outside, hanging out with family and friends, and cheeseburgers.
DIANE TOTH | facilities staff
Diane moved here from Fenton, Michigan where she lived for over 30 years. Being new to the city, she needed a new church family to belong to. She found Frontline, volunteered right away, and eventually became employed in the Facilities department. Diane keeps the building clean and maintained for her spiritual family. She loves doing this and knows this is what she was destined to do. Diane graduated from Baker & Mott College. She has two adult children, a son and daughter, and currently is raising her granddaughter.
ROBERT VANDER PLOEG | tech director
Robert joined the team in summer of 2018 with a passion to utilize technology to reach people for Christ. Originally from Caledonia, Robert holds a degree in Worship Arts from Cornerstone University. He is passionate about helping people draw closer to Christ, and empowering them to use their gifts and talents for the glory of God. Robert and his wife Melanie are both enthusiasts for hammocking, cooking hearty food, and visiting authentic taquerias.
BRAD VANDERSON | nowgen pastor
Brad is passionate about the community at Frontline. For him, there is nothing better than seeing Jesus transform lives. Brad has a degree from Grand Valley State University in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Masters in Ministry at Wesley Seminary. In addition to Frontline, Brad and Sam have been foster parents to several kids over the past couple years and love spending time with their crazy-cool daughters, Emery and Rowan. Brad loves photography, graphic design, and being ridiculously sarcastic all the time.
